BMW Motorrad just unveiled the brand-new F 450 GS in Italy, and it’s already turning heads across the motorcycle world.
Lightweight, playful, and unmistakably GS, it marks the beginning of a new chapter for BMW’s most iconic lineup.
According to BMW Motorrad CEO Markus Flasch, the goal was simple:
“Get on, twist the throttle, have fun, with full control and maximum confidence.”
That’s exactly the feeling the new F 450 GS is built to deliver.

A Big Moment in Milan
The world got its first look at the F 450 GS at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan.
It’s BMW’s answer to a fast-growing demand, riders who love adventure but want something lighter, simpler, and more approachable.
Compact, Confident, and 100% GS
Power comes from a completely new 420 cc twin-cylinder engine, producing 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque, right at the heart of the A2 license class.
With a ready-to-ride weight of just 178 kg, the bike feels agile, responsive, and easy to manage both on and off the road.
The 135-degree crankshaft gives it a punchy, characterful feel, smooth at low revs, energetic when you open it up.
And with a 14-liter tank, it’ll cover over 350 km between fill-ups.

Innovation Made Simple
BMW also introduced a clever new system called the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC).
Think of it as a semi-automatic clutch that takes over when you want it to.
You can start, stop, and shift gears without ever touching the lever, perfect for city traffic, off-road control, or just smoother rides.
It’s standard on the GS Trophy edition and optional for others, making the F 450 GS one of the most advanced bikes in its class.
Four Versions:
BMW is launching the F 450 GS in four distinct trims:

Basic – Cosmic Black
Exclusive – Cosmic Black (adds quickshifter, engine guard, and more)
Sport – Racing Red (with adjustable sport suspension)
Trophy – Racing Blue Metallic (top model, with ERC and rally setup)
Each one carries that unmistakable GS DNA, upright stance, wide bars, and the signature “X” headlight design.
